Progyny FAQs

  1. What is Progyny? Progyny is a fertility benefits company that contracts directly with employers across the United States.
  2. What is a Smart Cycle? Progyny assigns each aspect of treatment with a Smart Cycle value that helps members and doctors keep track of coverage. Progyny offers several different treatment bundles, which may be used in various combinations depending on the treatment path.
  3. What is a Patient Care Advocate (PCA)? PCAs provide support to our members throughout their entire fertility journey.

 


Five things to know about Progyny benefits

  1. Patient Care Advocates (PCA) provide support throughout the process. This includes guidance regarding billing. Patients will need to register with their PCA before moving forward using their Progyny benefit for any visits, testing or treatment.
  2. Authorizations. Patients must be enrolled with Progyny and receive authorization prior to starting each fertility service.
  3. Progyny Smart Cycle, is designed to keep close track of comprehensive coverage use.
  4. Member financial responsibility. Progyny patients should expect to receive a bill directly from Progyny for their portion of all covered services. Individual costs will vary as they are determined by several factors. Patients should reach out to Progyny with any questions.
  5. Coordination of Benefits (COB), some patients may have multiple fertility benefits, which may require COB. In accordance with primary insurance rules, patients are required to exhaust fertility benefits through the primary insurance before accessing Progyny benefits.
