A reproductive urologist dedicated to helping patients build their families


Dr. Tolulope Bakare is a fellowship-trained urologist specializing in male reproductive health, male infertility, fertility preservation, and reproductive and sexual health. She is passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate the often complex path to parenthood and believes every patient deserves compassionate, personalized care throughout their fertility journey.


With extensive experience in male reproductive medicine, Dr. Bakare cares for patients facing a wide range of fertility challenges, including conditions affecting sperm production, hormonal health, sexual function, and fertility following cancer or other medical treatments. She is particularly committed to fertility preservation and to helping patients understand their options before and during treatments that may affect future fertility.

Dr. Bakare was drawn to reproductive urology because it allows her to combine advanced surgical and medical expertise with the opportunity to help patients achieve one of life's most meaningful goals: building a family.


She understands that infertility can be an emotional and deeply personal experience. Her approach is centered on listening carefully to each patient's goals, understanding their individual circumstances, and developing a treatment plan tailored to their needs.


Dr. Bakare also has a strong interest in improving access to reproductive care and building a more inclusive and culturally responsive approach to male reproductive medicine. She has presented nationally on building a multicultural practice in male reproduction and has served on committees focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access to infertility care.


Reproductive training and expertise


Dr. Bakare completed a fellowship in reproductive urology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her urology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she developed broad expertise in urologic surgery and reproductive health.


She earned her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and her bachelor's degree in biology, summa cum laude, from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Research and leadership


Dr. Bakare is actively involved in research focused on improving the understanding and treatment of male infertility and reproductive health. Her research interests include fertility preservation, access to semen analysis, reproductive toxicity, hypogonadism, the relationship between medical conditions and male fertility, and disparities in urologic surgical outcomes.


Her work has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and she has contributed chapters to leading medical reference texts on male fertility, sperm retrieval, erectile dysfunction, and male reproductive endocrinopathy.


Dr. Bakare has also held leadership roles within the medical community, including serving as Director of UTSW Male Reproductive Health and Director of Foley Simulation for Medical Students. She has served on committees for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, and other professional organizations focused on reproductive medicine, diversity, and access to care.
